WHY LEGENDS CHARTER SCHOOL
Legends Charter School was founded on the belief that all students can learn and deserve the opportunity to receive a high-quality education, regardless of their socio-economic background. It is our belief that a student’s zip code should not determine a student’s access to education. At Legends, we believe in a holistic approach to education and work to provide any and all resources that facilitate student success in the classroom and beyond.

The Change
Equity Now's efforts are focused on discovering, planning and implementing innovative solutions for pathways of building equity in the community. Our efforts are strategically focused on the growing number of families fighting for economic and educational equity.
The Problem
Many of the problems families and communities face are adaptive requiring legislation which can be litigious, time consuming and slow. Globally, the U.S. is at risk of declining economic competitiveness due to its continuing lower levels of educational attainment. The U.S. currently ranks 44th according to the quality of its mathematics and science education. The problem is exacerbated when you dig into the middle-class community.
The Solution
There is a growing recognition of the importance of equity to economic development and upward mobility. High-quality education improves long-term academic and economic outcomes for children and communities. Therefore, Equity Now is committed to nurturing the full capacity of communities, helping them achieve their full economic and academic potential.

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH
Legends Charter School will provide a rigorous, college preparatory K-8 foundation for our scholars, ensuring each student can excel in high school, college, and life – tuition free. To deliver on this mission, we will have a two adult model in all courses K-5, integrated block courses, a curriculum spiraled from Advanced Placement courses, a robust and thorough support program, explicit and consistent instruction in organization and study skills, a wide variety of art and enrichment courses, and a financial education program. This innovative approach distinctly distinguishes Legends from traditional public schools.
