Director of Science and Technology

Eugene (Gene) Gregory is a veteran educator and curriculum leader with over two decades of experience shaping instructional excellence across schools and educational organizations. He currently serves as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction where he leads strategic planning, instructional design, and professional development initiatives that center equity, rigor, and student achievement.

Gene’s career spans roles as a teacher, curriculum developer, educational coordinator, and director — each marked by a commitment to student-centered learning and continuous improvement. He holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Kaplan College and an Administrative Certification from Hood College, grounding his leadership in both theory and practice.

As a foundational administrator at Legends Charter School, Gene has played a key role in the school’s development since its opening. Each year, he has made a personal commitment to leave the school better than he found it — building systems, mentoring staff, and fostering a culture of excellence that reflects his deep belief in the power of education.

Known for his nerdy enthusiasm for science, Gene brings curiosity, precision, and a love of inquiry to every space he enters. Whether he's designing curriculum or leading professional learning, he infuses his work with the same energy and intentionality that inspired his own journey as a lifelong learner.

Outside of his professional life, Gene is a proud father of a daughter currently attending Emory University, a reflection of his enduring commitment to academic excellence and personal growth.
